Bio: I was born and raised in Northern California. Most of my years growing up were in Cottonwood before moving to Redding during my high school years where I met my wife Jessica. In the summer of 1999, I moved to Chico to complete school at Chico State at which point I also began attending Grace Church. Within a couple years, I was serving in ministry at Grace as a small group leader, worship team instrumentalist and live sound engineer. My long-time love of music coupled with an increasing desire to worship God and serve the body of Christ led me to pray about pursuing full-time ministry in early 2007. It soon became clear that this is where God wanted me and I came on staff full-time in September of last year. My wife and I have been married 7 years and are proud parents of our son Ryan who will turn 3 this summer. We're currently awaiting the arrival of a baby girl due this month! Our family is excited to stay in Chico and honored to continue serving the Lord here at Grace.
You Would Never Think: The trumpet was my first and primary instrument for a number of years. I played it from middle school though my senior year in high school.
Favorite books, music, movies: (Books) I recently began reading "Inside-Out Worship" by Matt Redman (& friends) and find it inspiring thus far. (Music) Recently my iPod's played through the new album by Don Poythress, some Jon Foreman, the new Hillsong project and a variety of songs from many of the Vertical Music artists and worship leaders. (Movies) I don't watch a lot of movies but always enjoy a good comedy. Also enjoyed recently watching the Planet Earth series (multiple times!), and occasionally take in the great cinematography of a Warren Miller flick.Hobbies: Golf, photography, mountain biking, playing guitar (& ukulele) and spending time with family & friends.
Favorite Scripture: Ephesians 5:1-2 "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
